On May 8th Berlin-based glam-punkers, Fantuzzi, release their debut EP Snakes via Pity Party Records. 

After a period of intense song-writing and gigging the band and their producer, Cisco Parisi, have laid down a record that showcases Fantuzzi’s range and power, taking the listener on a journey through dark discos, desert roads and misty hallucinatory worlds.

The release begins with a retro club-banger, Gala, whose relentless four-to-the-floor beat, surf guitar and seductive vocals open the EP with a dark, rhythmic and irresistible atmosphere. Next comes the title track, Snakes. The opening thrashing guitar solo immediately sinks its teeth into you as the track then continues with a train-on-the-move momentum that lassoos the listener, dragging them in a frenzy down the dusty streets of an imaginary urban-cowboy landscape mirrored by the tracks country-punk music video. As the feedback at the end of Snakes dissipates and the teeth marks fade we’re treated to a final antidote: the serene and epic ballad, Morphine Daydreams. As the name suggests there’s a surreal, dreamy atmosphere to this closer that builds into a glorious climax of orchestral magnitudes led by powerful vocals, honky-tonk pianos and jangly guitars. 

With this debut release Fantuzzi are serving up a taster platter of their unique, genre-bending sound, introducing us to the distinctive Fantuzzi vibe and songwriting style. They’re celebrating this release with a Pity Party night at 8mm Bar (Berlin) on the day of the release.
